We provide appraisal services for tangible personal property throughout the United States. As ethical, unbiased professionals we work on behalf of the public trust when performing appraisals.

Maria Masse and Steve Masse are both personal property appraisers.

Ms. Masse is designated as a Member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA) with a specialization in Fine Art.  Ms. Masse has an art history degree from Colby College.  She has worked in galleries and volunteered in museums in Washington State and Massachusetts.  She appraises fine art as well as furnishings, the decorative arts and other appreciable personal property.

Mr. Masse is a professional engineer with an undergraduate degree from University of Rhode Island.  He specializes in appraising tools, equipment, firearms, vehicles including RVs, as well as collectible toys, coins, furnishings.  He has completed coursework with the Certified Appraisers Guild of America (CAGA). He is a current American Society of Appraisers (ASA) member.

Appraisals are completed for the intended uses including the following:

  • Estate Planning,
  • Equitable Distribution for Estate or Divorce,
  • Sales Advisory,
  • Estate Tax Determination,
  • Charitable Contribution or;
  • Replacement Costs for Insurance Claims or Coverage.

The charge for an appraisal is based on an hourly rate plus expenses, and is NOT on a percentage of the value of the appraised items.  As appraisers, we have NO past, current or prospective financial interest in the items we appraise.

2021 Appraisal Rates are:

$120.00 per hour for on-site inspection &

$120.00 per hour for research, analysis and report writing conducted at our office.

Mileage rate for travel is $0.54 per mile.  Overnight travel if warrented is based on the Federal per diem rate.
